NASDAQ-100

The NASDAQ-100 index is a value-weighted stock market index containing the top hundred of the largest non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ exchange, both domestic to the US and international. Weights in the index are based on the market capitalization of the relevant company, with some modification to reduce the influence of the the largest companies.

Unlike the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average, the Nasdaq-100 index does not contain companies in the financial sector - but does include companies incorporated or founded outside the US.
